Gulf Aquarium and Marine Station - GAMS

The Gulf Aquarium and Marine Station [GAMS] is a non-profit organization that welcomes visitors to our Marine Discovery Centre on the western shore of Cape Breton Island. GAMS also operates research offices and a lab to facilitate scientific and social research being performed in the region. The combined Discovery Centre and research space supports the three core missions of GAMS: Education for all ages to promote Ocean Literacy; Community building, through public forums, events, and citizen-science; and Research on southern Gulf of St. Lawrence ecosystems, species, climate change and impacts, and resources such as fisheries, both historic and current.
